Unidentified Magenta Slime on Remote Tasmanian Shoreline Prompts Anxiety of Possible Algal Bloom
Authorities in Tasmania are working to identify a rosy sludge that has materialized on a secluded beach, with certain experts concerned it could be an phytoplankton proliferation.
Widespread Appearance On Coastline
The pink-tinged sludge materialized across a section of Randalls Bay about 37 miles south of Hobart. A like substance has also been recorded on parts of another local beach and a separate bay.
